Red Rascal has been a member of the kink/pup/furry community for 15 years. In his early years in the community, he met members of Chicago Pet Patrol at regional events and they were always quick to take him under their wing. Eager to repay the kindness both CPP and the community had shown him throughout the years, he joined the CPP Board from 2018-2021. You can find many of his paw prints on the club’s governing documents, operations, and digital functions. In 2022, CPP awarded his efforts over the year with the title Board Member Emeritus. In recent years, he has taken on an advisory role to the board when needed.

Outside of CPP, his passions are tech, gaming, and parenting his darling couch hippo, Maeve.

This little wolf pup is a chemist and proud cat uncle. His dexterous paws loves working with crafts, stationary, and knotty muscles.

This is his second year on the board of CPP as Treasurer and is a volunteer at GD2 and the Chicago Rose as well.

DADDY SHADI

(he/him) | BOARD MEMBER AT LARGE

Over the last decade, Daddy Shadi has served the CPP as a volunteer, club secretary, director, in leading the inaugural Board Oversight Committee, and is currently serving as the official CCKC representative for the CPP.

Daddy Shadi has also served on IML’s staff as the co-coordinator of Open Shine. He is a trustee emeritus of Out! Bowling, and had volunteered for the following: Open Shine, MIR, Mr. Leather 64Ten, Chicago Leather Community Outreach, St. James Pantry, The Imperial Windy City Court of the Prairie State Empire, Night Ministry, and Center on Halsted. He believes that volunteerism is core to maintaining our broader community, with service in both kink subcultures and local organizations being critical to the maintenance and development of healthy societies.

Daddy Shadi has also taught classes in kink, heavily promoting active consent as the default power exchange dynamic. He has taught classes on impact play, BIPOC issues, scene negotiation, and his primary kink, fisting. These classes have been held as part of the event weekends of Mr. Chicago Leather, Mr. Nebraska Leather, Mr. Kentucky Leather, and Mr. Leather 64Ten, as well as several standalone classes throughout the Ohio River Valley region. He believes kink education by the skilled is a critical component of serving the community, and that the only educators worth listening to are the ones who keep learning.

Outside of being a silly little dog I collect records, shoot concerts, am a barista, like reading and video games.

SPIKE

(he/him) | BOARD MEMBER AT LARGE

Grrr! Spike is an old, grumpy dog who has been around for a long time in the pup/pet community. A very long time, like when there were dinosaurs and stuff. Maybe that’s why he is grumpy all the time. Anyhow, he is a previous CPP board member from 2017-2021 where he did a bunch of cool things like help change the club’s culture to be more inclusive and welcoming, become a recognized non-profit, and become a beacon in the community. After stepping back from the board, Spike continued to be an advisor and resource to the board and the club. Spike knows how intimidating and daunting it can be for new folks to join the community, and one of his passions is to make new folks feel comfortable, confident, and have the tools to jump in.

Outside of being a dog, Spike loves discussing the properties of various adhesives, playing hockey, being grumpy, and collecting old telephones. He doesn’t really know anything about adhesives, so maybe you can fill him in. The thing about phones is real, though. Just ask Spike about Henry Dreyfuss’ influence on the industrial design of Western Electric telephones, and he will bark about that for hours and hours. Also, he makes really good chili.

Spike is honored to have been chosen to serve on the board for five terms.

BUSTER

Buster began attending Chicago Pet Patrol events in 2015 while starting his journey as a pup. Having made many lasting bonds in/around the community through CPP, he wanted to provide something back and would serve as a volunteering Director in 2017, followed by two full Board terms in 2018 and 2019 (as well as early 2020).

In addition to CPP, Buster has been a member of the Chicago Hellfire Club (CHC) since 2017 and serves as the Setup Co-Chair for the club’s annual BDSM destination event. He’s been on staff at his local furry convention, Midwest FurFest (MFF), for 9 years and currently works in IT. He also volunteers for a number of other furry, kink/BDSM, and pet/handler events.

Buster’s other interests include LEGOs, Star Wars, indoor/outdoor gardening, interior design, glamping, and time with his (bio)dog, Maeve.

“The Board Trustee Emeritus are considered non-voting, non-Executive, non-officer positions that function as an advisory position to the Board. They will be invited to Board Meetings as appropriate. These members have served the Board with distinction and are deserving of the same distinction for their outstanding service. In recognition of their time, dedication and long-term interest in CPP, they shall have Board Trustee Emeritus status, which cannot be revoked without both sufficient cause and a unanimous vote of the Board, and each revocation must be considered in sole and separate fashion. Standard procedures for notice and right to speak as a Member applies.”
